Multi-Organizational Coordination Meeting Convenes in Lausanne

July 26, 2018

The Association of Detainees and Missing Persons in Seydnayah Prison joined a gathering of 25 other Syrian groups for a coordination assembly in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Also in attendance were delegates from diverse governmental bodies and foreign ministries. Facilitated by the Swiss and Dutch Foreign Ministries, the session aimed to foster cooperation among Syrian civil society organizations and an impartial, independent international entity designated for investigating significant crimes. The goal is to commence fair and lawful legal proceedings according to international norms.

The meetings culminated in the establishment of a partnership protocol between human rights organizations and the global investigative mechanism. Mr. Diab, acting on behalf of the secretariat of the Association, affixed his signature to the protocol, which had been in the making for several months.
